1. Course Overview
The Acuro Private Pilot License (PPL) Course introduces the core foundations of piloting, focusing on manual aircraft control and visual flight operations.
Before managing complex aircraft systems, pilots must develop strong stick-and-rudder skills, situational awareness, and skill in manual flight handling.
This course recreates essential Private Pilot training concepts within the Airbus A320 simulator environment, allowing participants to experience the fundamentals of flying in a structured and instructor-guided setting.
2. Who This Course Is For
This course is designed for:- Aviation enthusiasts interested in learning how pilots control an aircraft
- Beginners with little or no flight experience
- Individuals considering future pilot training
- Participants who want to understand core flying principles before advanced training
3. Key Skills / What You Will Learn
Participants will gain foundational knowledge in:
- Precision manual flight control (stick-and-rudder technique)
- Visual navigation (VFR) using ground references
- Traffic pattern operations including take-offs, turns, and landings
- Aircraft energy management — understanding the relationship between pitch, power, and airspeed
- Basic cockpit workflow and situational awareness
4. Training Structure
The training program focuses on key elements typically introduced in early Private Pilot training.
Core modules include:
Manual Flight Control
- Aircraft attitude control
- Maintaining stable flight using visual references
Visual Navigation (VFR)
- Navigating using landmarks and ground references
- Situational awareness in visual conditions
Traffic Pattern Operations
- Take-off procedures
- Climb and turning techniques
- Circuit pattern management
- Landing fundamentals
Aircraft Energy Management
- Understanding pitch, power, and airspeed relationships
- Managing aircraft performance in different phases of flight
5. Simulator Experience
Training takes place in the Acuro Airbus A320 fixed-base simulator, configured to replicate the handling characteristics of a general aviation aircraft.
To emphasize manual flying skills, several automated systems are intentionally disabled:- Direct law
- Autothrust OFF
- Autopilot OFF
- Flight directors OFF
- Manual pitch and power control
- Manual trim control
- Basic MCDU inputs
This configuration allows participants to focus on the fundamentals of aircraft handling and visual flight control.
6. Course Details
- Estimated Simulator Time: ~10 hours
- Training Format: Instructor-guided simulator sessions
- Environment: Visual flight conditions (VFR)
- Experience Level: Beginner to early-stage aviation learners
7. Key Benefits
Participants gain:
- A practical introduction to core pilot skills and aircraft handling
- Hands-on experience flying in a full-scale Airbus A320 cockpit
- Understanding of fundamental flight dynamics and control principles
- Instructor guidance from experienced aviation professionals
- This is an unofficial course (not linked to civil aviation authority), which means you will not be credited flight hours for your official logbook. You will not receive an Airbus A320 type rating.
- This is a course mainly focused on the practical aspect of flying and will take roughly 10–20 hours (depending if you were enrolled in the PPL and IFR course before). If you achieve the requirements earlier you can use it for another course or convert to Sim flight time.
